Laboratorio Opoterapico Argentino, S.A. (LOA) is a leading manufacturer and supplier of all natural nutraceutical ingredients and raw materials for the pharmaceutical, veterinary and cosmetic industries.

A family-owned and operated company established in 1924 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, LOA was founded on the guiding principles of providing customers the highest quality products produced by the strictest of manufacturing standards, along with the best possible customer service. And this mission still holds true today.

For the past forty years, the company has continuously improved their facilities, processes, technology and equipment. This continuous improvement philosophy in manufacturing and production, along with a firm commitment to use only the finest all natural ingredients available, has been the backbone of LOA’s success in achieving a leadership role in the worldwide market.

Chairman and CEO, Dr. Jorge Millan, states, “Over the past four decades, LOA has exported to the U.S. and Europe over 300 tons a year of all natural health food ingredients and raw materials for the pharmaceutical, veterinary and cosmetic industries. We have also expanded our R&D efforts to develop new uses for our raw materials, and are available to collaborate with other companies in their R&D efforts as well.”

The complete LOA product line is all natural, and certified BSE free, with no additives, hormones or solvent residues. Dr. Millan’s continued dedication to the purity of his company’s products for the benefit of his customers, and the health and well-being of the ultimate end user, is unwavering in the company’s commitment to new product development using only the highest standards of manufacturing excellence.

LOA’s Quality Control Department, newly located in the latest plant expansion along with R&D, strictly adheres to Good Manufacturing Practices for Laboratory Standards, and ensures that finished products adhere to the appropriate requirement specifications (USP/NF, BP, DAB). Depending on the customer’s requirements, the quality of LOA’s products could be further tested through the analysis of pre-shipment samples through well know international quality control companies, or, the customer’s own quality control laboratory. Either way, LOA assures the purity and accuracy of its products, through the strict control of its processes.

LOA has two manufacturing plants, both in located in Buenos Aires. The first plant began operations in 1924 when the company was first founded. Some important industrial work is still done in this pre-war building. The second factory was built in 1978 to complete the industrial expansion program and to automate all of the production lines, and houses new manufacturing, distribution and administrative offices, as well as the new facilities devoted to quality control and R&D.

The company currently employs approximately 50 worldwide staff—dedicated to the company’s mission of purity and quality through continuous improvement. The staff is composed of highly qualified experts and technicians in the fields of manufacturing, production, quality control, bacteriology, and research, as well as sales, marketing and distribution. LOA distributes through two distributors in the U.S. market. And, of course, customer satisfaction is part of everyone’s job, as LOA continuously strives to exceed every customer’s expectations.
